Here, wind and water have sculpted red sandstone rock into fantastical shapes that is rarely seen anywhere else.
In Little Finland, fiery sandstone fins and bizarre shaped mythical beasts springs from the desert floor like a fanciful mirage. These amazing rock formations have been formed by the eroding sandstone. Some of these amazing formations have got descriptive names like the Ancient Elephant, Little Dinosaur and Big Nose. With all these, Little Finland offers an endless photographic possibilities.
Little Finland is located about 50 miles south of Mesquite and few people know about it. Reaching this place is also tough as the area is reachable by an off-beaten track called Gold Butte Byway. You’ll also find no fuel service, food or drink on the way. The area is also extremely fragile rock formations that can easily crumble if not careful.
