The Lake Baikal is a massive lake and contains one fifth of the world’s total freshwater reserve. Not only is the lake the world’s largest and deepest lake but also the oldest one too. Geologists estimate that the lake formed approximately 25 million years ago. It is one of the clearest lakes in the world.
